Bored at Work
for office percussion
Inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, this solo for ‘office percussion’ is intended to be a glimpse into a percussionists life while they sit behind a desk. It uses common office supplies as unconventional instruments, and includes opportunities for theatrics.
Moon River
arr. for solo marimba
This song, made popular by the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s, is a beautiful opportunity to showcase lyrical phrasing and smooth movement while rolling on the marimba. Reharmonized from the original progression, this chorale version of Moon River creates lush textures with its interesting extended harmonies.
Although short and sweet, some voicings and techniques included could make this a challenge for the performer. A 5 octave marimba is required.
